Dhaga Collective presents
The First Thread
Different voices. Shared futures.
About
One thread, many hands.
Dhaga Collective is a youth-led creative initiative built around community, expression, culture, and collaboration. The First Thread is our debut Model United Nations — a conference where debate is stitched together from every corner of the room, across nine committees from the Security Council to creative forums.
A dhaga — a thread — represents connection. Each person brings a different story, and together those individual threads form something meaningful.

The Creator

Dhaga Collective was founded by a young student with a vision to create meaningful spaces for creativity, expression, and collaboration. What began as an idea is growing into a youth-led initiative that brings people together through culture, dialogue, events, and shared experiences.

A Note From The Founder
Dhaga was born from a simple desire: to create a space where young people could do more than consume content, attend events, or scroll past ideas. A space where they could actually create, collaborate, express themselves, and build something of their own.
I wanted to create a space for creative young people who have ideas, stories, opinions, talents, and ambitions — but do not always have the right platform to bring them to life. The vision was never limited to organising events. It was about building a community where creativity meets initiative, where young people can experiment, meet like-minded people, and turn their ideas into real experiences.
our mission
What We're Building
01
Create
Give young people opportunities to explore their creativity through writing, art, performances, cultural experiences, and original ideas.
02
Connect
Build a welcoming community where young people can meet, exchange perspectives, collaborate, and form meaningful connections.
03
Empower
Encourage young people to take initiative, develop leadership skills, organise projects, and bring their ideas to life.
04
Celebrate Culture
Create experiences that celebrate Indian culture, storytelling, music, traditions, and contemporary youth expression.
05
Make Space for Ideas
Give emerging voices a platform to share their work, pitch ideas, participate in discussions, and experiment with new forms of expression.
06
Grow Beyond Boundaries
Work towards building a wider community of young creatives, beginning with local connections and gradually expanding to other cities and communities.
"Our mission is to turn participation into creation, creativity into collaboration, and individual ideas into shared experiences."

The Threads So Far
The Beginning
Dhaga Collective was established as a youth-led creative initiative with a vision of bringing young people together.
Building the Community
We began developing a founding team and secretariat structure to support operations, outreach, events, content, design, and partnerships.
The First Thread MUN
We began planning Dhaga's first Model United Nations conference, envisioned as part of its wider cultural and creative direction.
A Platform of Our Own
We developed the Dhaga Collective website to establish an online home for the initiative and support future participation and registrations.
Building What Comes Next
We are developing plans for future events, creative collaborations, cultural experiences, and opportunities for young people.
This is only the beginning. There are more threads to gather, more ideas to explore, and more stories waiting to be written.
