The First ThreadDhaga Collective

our story

More Than An Event. A Collective.

Dhaga Collective is a youth-led creative initiative built around community, expression, culture, and collaboration. We bring young people together through creative gatherings, cultural experiences, conversations, writing, ideas, performances, and youth-led events.

A dhaga — a thread — represents connection. Each person brings a different story, and together those individual threads can form something meaningful.

Dhaga is not simply an event-management initiative. Our long-term vision is to create a platform where young people can actively participate in culture, share their perspectives, develop their ideas, and find opportunities to collaborate.

The Creator

Founder of Dhaga Collective

Dhaga Collective was founded by a young student with a vision to create meaningful spaces for creativity, expression, and collaboration. What began as an idea is growing into a youth-led initiative that brings people together through culture, dialogue, events, and shared experiences.

As the founder, I hope to build more than an organisation. I want to create a community where young people feel encouraged to contribute, take initiative, and turn their ideas into something real.

every thread begins somewhere

A Note From The Founder

Dhaga was born from a simple desire: to create a space where young people could do more than consume content, attend events, or scroll past ideas. A space where they could actually create, collaborate, express themselves, and build something of their own.

I wanted to create a space for creative young people who have ideas, stories, opinions, talents, and ambitions — but do not always have the right platform to bring them to life. The vision was never limited to organising events. It was about building a community where creativity meets initiative, where young people can experiment, meet like-minded people, and turn their ideas into real experiences.

Dhaga Collective represents connection. Like individual threads coming together to create something larger, every person brings their own perspective, culture, creativity, and story.

As a young founder and student, building Dhaga means learning through experience, taking responsibility, navigating uncertainty, and turning an idea into something tangible. Dhaga is still growing, and its early stages are an important part of its story. The goal is to grow thoughtfully, build genuine connections, and eventually create opportunities for young creatives across different cities and communities.

None of this is meant to be built alone. If any of this resonates with you, I hope you will pick up a thread and help us weave something meaningful — together.

With purpose,
The Founder, Dhaga Collective

04

Celebrate Culture

Create experiences that celebrate Indian culture, storytelling, music, traditions, and contemporary youth expression.

05

Make Space for Ideas

Give emerging voices a platform to share their work, pitch ideas, participate in discussions, and experiment with new forms of expression.

06

Grow Beyond Boundaries

Work towards building a wider community of young creatives, beginning with local connections and gradually expanding to other cities and communities.

"Our mission is to turn participation into creation, creativity into collaboration, and individual ideas into shared experiences."

every beginning has its own milestones

The Threads So Far

  1. The Beginning

Dhaga Collective was established as a youth-led creative initiative with a vision of bringing young people together.

  2. Building the Community

We began developing a founding team and secretariat structure to support operations, outreach, events, content, design, and partnerships.

  3. The First Thread MUN

We began planning Dhaga's first Model United Nations conference, envisioned as part of its wider cultural and creative direction.

  4. A Platform of Our Own

We developed the Dhaga Collective website to establish an online home for the initiative and support future participation and registrations.

  5. Building What Comes Next

We are developing plans for future events, creative collaborations, cultural experiences, and opportunities for young people.

This is only the beginning. There are more threads to gather, more ideas to explore, and more stories waiting to be written.
